The Three Choirs - the cathedrals of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester where Edward Elgar conducted some of his most famous works. The Western Isles - Scotland's Outer Hebrides

Dates: 18th - 24th June 2019

Based At: Stornaway and Benbecula

Make your way to Stornoway, on the road to Orinsay, where my thoughts return each day, by lovely Stornoway.
Sing along as we sail from Ullapool to the head of Loch Broom and crossing the Minch sea for an early afternoon arrival on the Isle of Lewis at Stornoway. The rest of the holiday is just wonderful as we visit the Callanish Stones, the Carloway Broch and the Gearrannan Black House Village whilst on Lewis. Then via the Isle of Harris for the ferry to north Uist and our hotel on Benbecula. Next follows a tour of South and North Uist with a circular trip around Benbecula - the Dark Island.
We begin our return journey from Lochmaddy to Uig on the Isle of Skye, then crossing Skye, over the bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh and through Kintail to Ft William.

The morning ferry takes us to Craignure then we cross Mull to Fionnport and the sea crossing to Iona.

Splendid Suffolk

What a delightful break this is. Leaving the motorway after Birmingham we travel through the English countryside to Ipswich and on to Woodbridge where our hotel offers quality fayre and accommodation. Our programme is a little different than most as we first visit the Suffolk Punch Trust, then on to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time Sutton Hoo. Another day we follow the "Painter's" Trail visiting Flatford Mill whilst following the footsteps of John Constable.
Finally some lazy time in Woodbridge before an afternoon cream tea cruise on the River Deben.

Burns Weekend 2020

We return to an old favourite for our Burns break in 2020, the Salutation Hotel, Perth.
We include visits to the Glen Turret Distillery and to Discovery Point at Dundee.
